Diving and Snorkelling in the Red Sea: What You Need to Know

5 min·15 January 2026

The Red Sea is no ordinary sea. With over 1,200 fish species, corals that have been growing for thousands of years, and visibility of up to 30 metres, it is one of the most spectacular diving areas in the world.

**Snorkelling — no diving certificate needed** You don't have to be a diver to experience underwater life. At Dolphin House or Orange Bay, you can observe colourful fish, corals and sometimes even turtles in knee-deep water. Equipment is provided.

**Diving for beginners: Try Dive** Never dived before? A try dive lets you dive 3–5 metres deep with a certified instructor — no course required, just a short briefing.

**For certified divers** The Red Sea offers spots for all levels: reef diving, wrecks (SS Thistlegorm!) and deep dives. Our team knows the best local spots away from the overcrowded areas.

**What to bring?** Underwater camera, sunscreen (reef-friendly!), water shoes, light breakfast.
